About All Insured
What does All Insured do?
All Insured makes it easy to get quotes for personal insurance. When you ask for a quote, you'll be contacted to confirm the cover and amounts you'd like, and your quotes are prepared. We don't issue insurance policies and we don't give personal advice. If you'd like advice, we can refer you to the insurer that issues the cover.
Do you compare every insurer?
No. Quotes come from a selection of insurers, not every insurer or policy in the market. When you're contacted, you can ask which insurers can be quoted on.
How is All Insured paid?
We may receive a referral fee for passing on your request. Asking for a quote costs you nothing, and there's no obligation to take out a policy.
Can I speak with a real person?
Yes. Every request goes to a real person, who'll confirm what you're looking for and prepare your quotes. You can also email us at info@allinsured.com.au.
Is All Insured an insurer?
No. Insurers issue policies, write the Product Disclosure Statements and pay claims. We pass your request on to a business that prepares quotes from insurers.
Do you give financial advice?
No personal advice. Our website gives general information only, which doesn't take your circumstances into account. We won't recommend a policy or an amount of cover. If you'd like personal advice, we can refer you to the insurer that issues the cover.
Can you tell me how much cover I need?
No. Working out how much cover you need would be personal advice, which we don't give. You choose the amount you'd like quoted, and you can change it at any time.
Cover types
What's the difference between life, TPD, trauma and income protection?
Life cover pays a lump sum if you die. TPD pays a lump sum if you're unlikely to ever work again. Trauma pays a lump sum on diagnosis of a listed serious illness or injury. Income protection pays a monthly benefit while you can't work for a period of time. Compare life, TPD, trauma and income protection.
Can I hold more than one type of cover?
Yes. Many people hold a combination, for example life and TPD cover in super plus income protection or trauma cover outside super. Each policy's PDS explains how it works alongside other cover.
What does ‘own occupation’ mean?
It's a TPD definition. You're covered if you can't work again in your own occupation. ‘Any occupation’ means you're covered only if you can't work in any occupation you're suited to by education, training or experience.
What's a waiting period?
For income protection, it's how long you must be unable to work before payments start. Common choices are 30, 60 or 90 days.
Super
Can I pay for my insurance through super?
Life, TPD and income protection cover can generally be held inside super, with premiums paid from your super balance. New trauma cover can't be held inside super (since 1 July 2014), so it's paid for outside super. Read how cover in super works.
Why can't trauma cover be held in super?
Super law only lets money leave super in certain situations, called conditions of release. A trauma diagnosis on its own isn't one of them, so since 1 July 2014 new trauma cover can't be held inside super.
Do I already have insurance in my super?
Many funds give members default death and TPD cover, and sometimes income protection. Check your latest statement or your fund's website. Cover can stop if your account has been inactive for 16 months.
What happens to my insurance if I combine super accounts?
The cover attached to an account you close usually ends when the account closes. Your fund can tell you what cover each account holds.
Getting a quote and applying
How do I get a quote?
Choose Get a quote and tell us which cover you're interested in, the amount of cover you'd like, and your name, mobile and email. You'll be contacted, asked the questions insurers need (including about your health), and your quotes will be prepared. We don't show prices on this website.
Does it cost anything to get a quote?
No. Asking for a quote is free and there's no obligation to go ahead. Your quotes are prepared after you're contacted. We don't show prices on this website, because premiums depend on the insurer's assessment of your application. If you take out a policy, you pay premiums to the insurer, either from your super or out of pocket.
Will I be asked about my health?
Not on this website. If you decide to apply for cover, the insurer will ask about your health, lifestyle and occupation as part of assessing your application.
Who will contact me, and how?
Someone from one of the insurance businesses we work with will contact you by phone, text message or email, using the details you give us, to prepare your quotes. You'll only be contacted about the cover types listed in your consent, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.
How quickly will I hear from someone?
You'll be contacted within 3 business days.
Why don't you show prices?
Premiums depend on your age, health, occupation, lifestyle, the amount of cover and the insurer's assessment of your application. A number on a website without that assessment could easily mislead, so your quotes are prepared once you've been contacted and it's clear what you're looking for.
What happens when I apply?
The insurer asks about your health, lifestyle and occupation. You have a duty to take reasonable care not to make a misrepresentation. The insurer may accept your application, accept it with changes such as an exclusion, or decline it.
Privacy and consent
What do you do with my details?
With your consent, we pass them on so you can be contacted and your quotes prepared, and we keep a record of your consent. See our Privacy Policy.
Can I withdraw my consent?
Yes, at any time. Tell the person who contacts you, or email us at info@allinsured.com.au.
Why is the consent box unticked?
Because it's your decision. We need your clear consent before passing on your request, so anyone who contacts you about it has your permission.
